What pitfalls await when a client says “I need this in Traditional Chinese”? To serve premier clients, it is NOT enough to know the differences between traditional and simplified characters, and between Mandarin and Cantonese. It is important to understand the fine nuances among writing styles. This session will discuss how project managers can determine the right style for a client who requests Chinese translations, even when the client has minimal knowledge of the Chinese language. The speaker will also share tips on evaluating whether a Chinese translation is ready for publication and touch on China’s translation-related standards.
